I know a lot of you have been moving over to Shopify to help diversify your business (and get away from the crazy Etsy changes) so I wanted to write a quick little guide for those out there who need a little help getting their Shopify sites up and running.
The good thing about Shopify is that it can be completely tailored to fit most businesses. Including product-based, service-based, or even courseware. The bad thing, however, is that this can feel completely overwhelming to someone who doesn’t know where to get started and is afraid of bloating their shop with apps and plugins that won’t give the best user experience for their customers.
As someone who has a chronic case of Shiny Object Syndrome, believe me, I get it!
So here are 10 extensions for Shopify that I think are incredibly useful for most businesses (and won’t break your budget)
10 Shopify Apps I Love
1. FAM
FAM stands for “Fully Automated Marketing” and is done by the people behind Appsumo. It is designed to help handle email marketing for Shopify owners who want something to take away all of the tasks that come along with it. They’ve just launched recently so I’d say jump in now before they up the price.
2. SNPT
SNPT is an app that can help convert your Instagram pics to shoppable product shots. And is a HUGE help when it comes to driving traffic from social media directly to your shop.
3. Auto Currency Switcher
Incredibly useful if you promote your products to a global audience.
4. TinyIMG SEO Image Optimizer
If you shoot your products raw and convert them without reducing the size, you’re setting up a slow loading site and poor user experience. So use TinyIMG to help reduce your image sizes and make your Shopify site way faster.
5. FraudBlock
If you’re dealing with high price points and are worried about getting fraudulent orders, FraudBlock is great at vetting customers and protecting your bottom line.
6. Carro
If you want to help identify and collaborate with Influencers, then Carro can help you get those collaborations going for free.
7. MailerLite
Just throwing in the current email service I use and love. MailerLite is like a mix of MailChimp and ConvertKit but without the cost. I’ve used them for years and think they’re a great way to keep in contact with your customers.
8. TrustHero
Trust Hero is great for giving your customers peace of mind that their info is securely protected (and it’s free!)
9. Order Printer
This is clutch if you’ve got multiple orders to ship and need to have a paper trail to keep track of them. In fact, it’s one of the best free apps I’ve used.
10. Product Reviews
How many times have you avoided making a purchase on Amazon because there are 0 reviews? Product Reviews is free and helps promote social proof and validation to new customers by letting previous clients review their purchases.
