If you’re not on Periscope yet, you might be missing out on a huge opportunity.
As a particularly camera shy person, the thought of being on Periscope gives me anxiety. If you’re unfamiliar with Periscope, it’s an app associated with Twitter that allows you to give live broadcasts to viewers, who can comment in realtime as you give your presentation, or answer questions, or whatever you want to do with it.
The purpose of Periscope is to give regular live broadcasts, so there is a challenge on continually giving valuable content on a regular basis. However, I’ve noticed very few brands giving broadcasts. The people I’ve mainly seen are internet personalities or service-based professionals (like business coaches or fitness gurus) which makes me think this is uncharted territory that can give new opportunities to connect with your audience, show off your brand, or provide extra value to your customers.
If you’re semi or remotely comfortable on camera (and looking at yourself while on camera) I think Periscope is a cool tool to use. Check out my video on how to set up Periscope on your phone and get started building your brand loyalty.
