So often we’re told that we shouldn’t be afraid, “the only thing to fear is fear itself!”, and so forth.
Well, you know what? It’s okay to be afraid. It’s okay to be terrified. Business is about taking risks, and some times they have to be ginormous risks.
It’s okay to lose sleep, and to ask for others opinions. It’s okay to spend way more time than you should working out all possible scenarios.
It’s okay to jump and wonder how you’ll land.
I’ve fallen on my face many times (unfortunately….both literally and figuratively) and spent a lot of money taking risks. A lot of money. Damn. I hate thinking about that…But there it is. I’m still glad I did those things, I really am.
So be afraid to take a leap. But embrace your fear. Accept you’re scared…not “practical” or “pragmatic” or any other safe words. You can be terrified of the fall, but if you’ve planned out the jump, then the land will work itself out.
