Hey, friends. Megan here. I am so excited to hang out with you today because like I promised last time, we are going to be unboxing my new Ulanzi teleprompter. In this series, I’ve been talking a lot about if I think you, as a marketer for your solopreneur or freelance business, need tech like this. And this series might not be helpful to you if you are like a freelance writer like I am, or if you’re doing a freelance service based business. But I think it’s important still that you check out the video because I made it, but because it gives you a way to understand the different avenues that you might want for marketing your business. Now, one thing that I’ve always loved to do was with my podcast, Stop Sucking at Business. Part of my content was having my blog posts automatically not transcribed, read, if you want, by AI and turning those blog posts into podcast episodes. Now, I was always really specific on the intro of those episodes that it’s not me, it’s an AI voice that’s going to read this. But I understand that people learn in different ways. And so if it’s easier for you to listen to a blog post than it is to read it, then I want you to get that value and make sure that you are getting all of the goodies that I have in my brain.

And the same is going to go for this YouTube channel, too. I really want to make sure that I am making it as easy as possible for freelancers like you to learn all of the different marketing tactics that I have and hopefully to help you grow your business. I think it probably will. But again, like I said, this is the reason that I want to show you this kind of tech. I want you to understand how it may be can spark something that makes you think that might be a good way to market my business. That might be a good thing to have in my arsenal. So that’s what we’re going to be doing. We’re going to be unboxing my Ulanzi teleprompter and doing a little bit of deep dive to show you who doesn’t love a good unboxing. So let’s give it a go. All right, so this is my first unboxing of this. It’s pretty substantial. Like, here my phone. The thing is much bigger than I anticipated, actually. Maybe it’s just the packaging. That is super impressive. So we’ve got our remote to start to stop and it looks like we have different lens covers here.

I’ll be interested to see how this works with my tiny Sony. So i believe this is I don’t know. We’ll figure this out together when I want to read the instructions and I’ll show you how it sets up. And there you have it. There is the teleprompter. So how this works, I don’t know if I should look at you or look at here. Okay, so let me show you how this works with the teleprompter. So, all you do, this is where your phone goes. And they also say that it can fit iPad, but I really don’t think that’s the case. Load your teleprompter app and you can get these for free. You can get these anywhere on an app store, but you do need one that will give you horizontal mirroring. And I’ll show you why. So it’s in here and it’s a tight fit, I won’t lie. I have an iPhone XR and it is…gotta really want it. All right, there we go. You can see it mirrors up here. And your camera fits in here. Your camera lens. Clearly I’m filming online, so I can’t show you that. Okay.

So I would be filming and it would be going up like that, and I would be looking right into the lens. Okay, there you go.

And it sits on your camera. Although if you use a smaller camera like I do, that’s more of a point and shoot I worry that this would be too heavy. So I would definitely recommend using a separate tripod for it. If you don’t have another mini tripod, you can prop it up on a couple of books or something. But I would recommend something that will keep the weight off of your lens if you have a point and shoot. What I really like to use this with is the tripod that I’m on right now. My Ulanzi MT-52. And I have a review and our unboxing in a separate video that I will link here. But you can see how easy this is for people who want to fully script out their YouTube content or they have a presentation, they’re doing, a webinar, anything like that. These things are so helpful. And one of my favorite purchases I’m really excited to get to start using this. Clearly, I’m not reading the script right now. Make sure that I can get you out the content that I write, that I record in any way possible that is easiest for you to take in.

So, yeah, that is the Ulanzi teleprompter. I will leave a link in my description below if you’re interested in it. But yeah, I would recommend this if you are serious about either filming, blog content, making sure you stick to a script, or anything like that. It’s really helpful. And the effect that your camera sits right on your camera means that you never have to look away and not have that eye contact with your audience. So, yeah, that’s my thought about it. I will be utilizing that hopefully soon, because I feel like, I don’t know, sound less like I’m all over the place when it comes to filming these videos for you. So hopefully it will help.
